62-year-old Michael Whitaker Smith left no stone unturned when he decided to pursue a career in music 37 years ago! Before gaining worldwide success, Smith gained recognition among his people and several artists as well. In 1979, he joined the CCM group Higher Ground. And in 1982, he found himself touring with Amy Lee Grant as a keyboardist! It was since 1984 that he began headlining his own tours!
